Heat can age plastic materials by making them soft, deformed, yellow, and cracked. Inevitably, a heat resistance enhancer has to be used during processing or heating steps in order to prevent resins or plastics from deteriorating and to extend their applications.
With its extensive processing properties, ABS is an engineering plastic that can be used in many different fields, such as car accessories and electrical appliance housings/casings.
However, the plastic has poor heat resistance, limiting the areas to which it can be applied. GY-HP-17 is a heat resistance enhancer specialized for ABS that helps extend the application areas of ABS by improving its high-temperature performance during processing steps. The enhancer serves to improve the thermal stability of ABS by raising the plastic’s thermal cracking temperatures while still maintaining the original color of plastic.
